JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for general grounds maintenance of Park facilities such as athletic fields, park grounds, playgrounds, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         High School Degree or GED required.

·         Minimum of 18 years of age.

·         Must have a valid Tennessee Drivers License.

·         Must be able to wear mandatory safety equipment.

·         Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Athletic field preparation such as dragging, lining, and field layout.

·         Mowing, weedeating, and various grounds maintenance which also includes beautification of plants and trees and irrigation repair.

·         Minor general construction of park facilities such as pouring concrete, carpentry, plumbing, etc.

·         Required participation in the planning, execution, and clean-up of special events such as tournaments holiday activities and other programs.

·         Follow all verbal and written work instructions. Read labels and safely follow directions of products and machine operation.

·         Responsibly operate equipment and City vehicles.

·         Work safely observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and City regulations.  Report any accidents immediately to Park Facility Manager.

·         Correctly wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.

·         Perform routine maintenance on equipment.  Report any malfunctioning equipment to the Park Facility Manager.

·         Conduct behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer’s perception of town facilities.

·         Help maintain the cleanliness of machines, work area and all park facilities including, but not limited to, public restrooms, picnic shelters, playgrounds, etc.

·         All other duties as assigned by Park Facility Manager.

·         Position will be a lead position during weekends, nights, and some events.

·         Park Security and lock-up will be required.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Provide coverage in absence of other personnel.

·         Promote the teamwork environment.  Assist coworkers when necessary

·         Will be lead person on some jobs.
